Chris Brown was born in New York but raised and schooled in Naples, FL. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, with honors, and the University of Florida College of Law. After working as an "in house" legal counsel for major corporations; Chris joined the Office of the Public Defender, in 2002, to pursue his dream of practicing as a courtroom trial attorney. He left that office in 2004 and has been in private practice ever since. Chris became a senior partner in the Firm of Brown, Suarez& Rios, P.A., in 2006.
Chris confines his practice, almost solely, to criminal defense litigation in State and Federal Court. He has tried over 100 jury trials, including several extremely high profile, punishable by life, cases in: Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Monroe and Pinellas counties. Chris has represented thousands of clients in various criminal matters, from DUI’s and other misdemeanor charges to murder, sexual battery and narcotics trafficking. In doing so he has argued hundreds of evidentiary motions and bench trials, as well as appellate cases.
As well as being a member of the Florida Bar, Chris is a member of the Charlotte County Bar Association and the Calusa Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. Chris is the current president and one of the founding members of the Charlotte Chapter of FACDL.
When not busy at the office Chris can usually be found rooting on one of the Florida Gators’ sports teams.
