With a background of corporate law experience in New York City, in 2011 Abizer decided to pack his “corporate law” bags and made his new home in Fort Myers, Florida. Motivated by his strong commitment to helping people, Abizer began his career in Southwest Florida as an Assistant Public Defender working in both Lee County and Charlotte County. Through hard work and determination Abizer was able to quickly rise through the ranks working on misdemeanor cases, felony cases, and eventually was put in charge of the entire misdemeanor division for the Fort Myers Public Defender’s office with up to 10 attorneys under his supervision. It was crystal clear to his former employer that Abizer cared deeply for his work and the clients he represented. It was there that Abizer was able to craft his skill of trying cases and achieving the best result possible for all of his clients.
Abizer joined the Brown, Suarez, Rios & Weinberg family in January 2015. We hired Abizer not only because of his excellent trial skills or his ability to know and understand the law, but primarily because of his strong commitment to helping people. These valuable traits give his clients a sense of comfort and confidence in his ability and the firm’s ability to provide the best legal representation available.
Growing up in Queens, New York, Abizer went to St. John’s University for his undergraduate degree, and got his law degree at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Since graduating law school Abizer has been admitted to practice in New York and Florida. Abizer learned early on in his life to adopt the personal philosophy of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. This philosophy has helped Abizer stay humble in his work, and try to help as many people as he can. A natural problem solver, fluent in several languages and compassion for people is what makes Abizer a valuable asset to his clients, this firm, and the people of Southwest Florida.
