Sipreano, or “Jimmy” as he prefers to be called, was born in Amarillo, Texas. Jimmy was raised and spent most of his life in Texas until moving to Florida to attend law school. Jimmy spent many years in the construction industry working as an iron worker before returning to school to continue his education.
Jimmy received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, one of only a select few schools to offer advanced degrees in the field. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Jimmy attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida. In law school, Jimmy met and became close friends with future law partner Rene Suarez. Although a proud life-long resident of the great State of Texas, Jimmy moved his family to Florida and began a new career in law.
Jimmy has concentrated his legal career almost exclusively on criminal defense. In pursuing a career as a trial attorney, Jimmy joined the Office of the Public Defender for Broward County, Florida (Ft. Lauderdale) where he was assigned to the domestic violence division. During his stint at the Public Defenders Office, Jimmy gained valuable trial experience. After his youngest son graduate from high school, Jimmy decided to move to southwest Florida where he joined the firm as a partner. Jimmy is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Jimmy has been married to his wife, Oty, for over twenty-four years. They have two children together, Jimmy Jr. and Jason. Jimmy’s oldest son recently graduated from Florida State University and is contemplating a career in law. Jason is a student at the University of Florida.
